ARC Training Centre – Uniquely Australian Foods

The Australian Research Council (ARC) Training Centre for Uniquely Australian Foods (the Centre) was established in November 2019. It aims to transform the native food and agri-business sector by providing research training focussed on converting traditional knowledge into branded products. The Centre will tackle the broad question of how to develop sustainable premium food and ingredient industries based on unique characteristics of Australian native plants.
The Centre commenced formal partner engagement and collaboration with a workshop at The University of Queensland in November 2018. As an industry partner, KSE will make a cash contribution each year to the Centre (over a five year period), along with an in-kind contribution.

Through The Centre, KSE working with UQ on PhD project scoping including the project Strengthening Indigenous community capability for sustainable livelihoods through the native botanicals industry. This project aligns directly with the KSE Incubator and the CRC NA Value Chain Project.
