Frog Hollow – a wonderful organisation providing support to our community
If you can only support one cause this year, make it this one
This is their story:
We’re going big for our littlest students
We are the community of Wurreranginy, commonly known as Frog Hollow, in the beautiful Kimberley region of northern WA. We need your help to raise funds to cover the cost of a much needed Early Learning Centre (ELC) for the littlest members of our community.
This year, the community of Frog Hollow is calling for donations to help raise funds to cover the cost of a much needed Early Learning Centre (ELC) for our preschool students. The space will be called “Wanyanyagem Lirrgarngirrem” which means “The Children Come to Learn”. Wanyanyagem Lirrgarngirrem is a community initiative, supported by the wonderful Purnululu Independent Community School. The Department of Education only fund the school for children aged 4+ and the Frog Hollow community has not received any Government support for housing for over 10 years. There is also no funding available for capital works of this nature through education or community funding… So we are raising money to build the centre ourselves! The Wanyanyagem Lirrgarngirrem project will cost $230,000 to complete. While the school community is contributing a large portion of this total and we have a lot of support from our community, builders and partners, we need your help to get this project across the line. Our first target is $50,000, which means that we will have enough money to fund the external construction of the ELC building. Every dollar you donate will go straight towards the project and is fully tax-deductible. No project management fees, no salaries for our staff, just straight towards the preschool building.
